Composition
Each 5 ml of B-Complex syrup contains:
- Vitamin B1: 5 mg.
- Vitamin B2 : 2 mg.
- Vitamin B6 : 2 mg.
- Nicotinamide : 20 mg.
- Dexpanthenol : 3 mg.
- Excipients: S.Q. for 5 mL.
Indications
B-Complex Syrup is used for:
- The prophylactic therapy and for the treatment of specific vitamin deficiency diseases, such as beriberi, ariboflavinosis, cheilosis, glossitis, and pellagra.
- For the prevention of hypovitaminosis resulting from the administration of vitamin antagonists (antiinfectives drugs, cytostatics products and, anticonvulsants), loss of appetite ( for instance, in the course of feverish illnesses) or in case of a deficient or special diet.
- Impairment of absorption as in sprue, celiac disease and diarrhea, and after the prolonged treatment with antibiotics during the period of convalescence.
- During pregnancy and lactation to meet the increased requirements.
- In liver disease, neuralgia, neuritis and polyneuritis as an adjuvant therapy.
- In the treatment of the sequelae of chronic alcoholism (e.g. cardiomyopathy) and stomatitis as a result of vitamin B-Complex deficiency.
Dosage & Administration
For Prophylactic Therapy
- Infants and young children: ½ teaspoonful syrup ( 2.5 ml ) daily.
- Children of school age: ½ – 1 teaspoonful syrup (2.5 ml – 5 ml ) daily.
- Adults: 1 – 2 teaspoonfuls syrup ( 5 – 10 ml ), daily.
For therapeutic Properties
According to the severity of the deficiency symptoms:
- Infants and young children: ½ teaspoonful syrup ( 2.5ml ) two to three times daily.
- Children of school age: ½ – 1 teaspoonful syrup (2.5 ml – 5 ml ) two to three times daily.
- Adults: 1-2 teaspoonfuls syrup ( 5-10 ml ), two to three times daily.
Note: The syrup may be taken undiluted, although it is better first to mix with a liquid (e.g. fruit juice) or with semisolid food.
