Flurazine 5 mg, a medication that belongs to the class of anti-vertigo drugs. It is known for its ability to inhibit calcium influx into neuronal cells, which helps reduce the frequency of all forms of migraine attacks.

Each capsule of Flurazine 5 mg contains 5 mg Flunarizine HCl.

Flurazine 5 mg is mainly used in the treatment of dizziness, vertigo.

Flurazine 5 mg is effective in reducing attack of migraine but is particularly effective in migraine with severe and disabling neurological symptoms (for instance, migraine with aura or without aura).

Elderly:

Flurazine 5 mg is given to elderly people after adjusting the dose.

Children:

The safety and efficacy of Flurazine 5 mg in the prophylaxis of migraine has not been established in patients younger than 18 years of age.

Pregnancy& breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Flurazine 5 mg.

Pregnancy Category: N (Not Classified).

Flurazine 5 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of small amounts Flurazine 5 mg appear in breast milk.

Adults (Under 65 years of age):

Flurazine 5 mg should be taken at night-time starting with a low dose. This may then be increased as recommended by the doctor.

The recommended dose of Flurazine 5 mg is tow capsules (10 mg) daily.

If, during this treatment, depressive, extrapyramidal or other unacceptable adverse experiences occur, administration should be discontinued.

If, after 3 months of this initial treatment, no significant improvement is observed, the patient should be considered a non-responder and administration should also be discontinued.

Elderly (65 Years of age and over):

The recommended dose of Flurazine 5 mg is one capsule at night-time.

clinical experience suggests that 2 successive drug-free days per week may decrease the potential for adverse reactions.
